Soul Seeds is a place of respite and joy where seeds may grow to nourish the body and spirit!
Currently under construction, this project is the combination of efforts from OUMC, Ocracoke Alive, and Ocracoke School to create an educational space and opportunities for growing herbs, fruits, and vegetables, learning new recipes, using gardening models that can be implemented in homes and yards, and to provide community composting.
This is an effort on behalf of OUMC to become better stewards of creation and each other.
Garden harvests support individuals, The Bread of Life Food Pantry, as well as the Community Lunches Program for homebound members.
In addition to the food garden, there is an area for prayer, contemplation, and respite that is being constructed.
These adjoining areas can be accessed from the church lawn or via a walking path from Howard Street. Garden areas also connect to Stella Maris Catholic Chapel's Garden of the Blessed Mother Mary.
Come find sanctuary and nourishment in our garden and may it be joy you share as you tarry there.
